I have started an organisation called Humans Make Clothing, that is a part of the Fashion Revolution.

Humans Make Clothing opens dialogue for consumers and industry professionals alike to
share and discuss what Ethical Fashion means and explore the future. We support organisations, brands, makers, suppliers and individuals to connect beyond their network, become more transparent and communicate what has not been said in 225 years – machines don’t make clothing, humans do.

September & Soap Making

Hello.

I've been working on my thesis, working and I don't really know what, but time has gone past so quickly! It's been over a year now since I moved to London. Crazy.

My latest love and addition to my to-do-list is soap making. As a kind of prize for working on my thesis, I will get to make some! As you might now, I make my own body oil which I apply after I shower. It keeps my skin smooth and scents me nicely. Well, I want to take this aficionado a bit further by making body butter, maybe lotion, face soap, hand soap, shampoo...

I have a first batch of ingredients arriving tomorrow! I can't really emphasize how exited I am that I've finally allowed myself be interested in something else than the thesis. Work doesn't always make my brain sing songs of inspiration and the thesis needs a carrot to push me forward. So my carrot, for now, is soap making. Maybe once I have made all said compounds made I'll be bored again, but at least the thesis will be further along :D

I'll share my successes and failures, as always.

Summer is Upon Us

Dear readers,

After three months of quiet I've decided that I have nothing to hide. I'm in a new relationship and I like it. He doesn't want to be featured in media quite as strongly as I feature myself, so I'll just skirt around him without revealing too much. He is a great photographer, though that is now his profession, so some of his pictures might appear with permission along mine.

He is also a great cook providing me with endless content to blog about, as food seems to fill up these pages. I'll also try to get back to my thesis and chronicle the long process in this blog, as my gap year has now officially ended. Can you believe over achiever Mila has just had a whole 12 month gap year? I can't and it's my life we are talking about.

I'm also trying to reach some of you that I haven't reached in a while. My project of getting more in touch with my friends has worked well, but I feel the need to widen the net. Reach the people who would never send me a message to ask me how I am. I know you are there, somewhere, and I feel the need to say hi to you.

Hi, how are you? Are you good?

I'll leave you with those words to do some thesis work. There is a free range chicken in the oven and Netflix stream waiting, so let's hope for the best. Temptation is only in your mind, right? ;)

A Friend in Need

I have a confession.

The years of loneliness are my own doing. How sad is that, but so true. I invested my time wrong. I should have called you, I should have made an effort. I should have said no to the situations that clearly did not benefit me. And yet blinded by my own intentions I lost site of my own values. What a funny word, values.

It will take time, but I will make you:
1. Think it's nice to spend time with me
2. Remember why we were friends
3. Trust that I'm not just going to vanish again (just because I suddenly moved abroad) (or date a guy) (or have a social life)
4. Want to be friends with me again

So beware. I might just call you. Or you can help me out by calling me (if I would get a pennie every time someone Skypes with me on loudspeaker while snuggling with their boyfriend...) (Was I like that really?)

Just do it. I will want to talk to you none the less. Maybe I'll even get to know your boyfriend.
