Midsummer Night's Dream

I'm trying to pack for our three week InterRail trip. As always it seems I have nothing to wear. As always it seem I have nowhere to put my garb. As always it seems buying new gear for me seems like a crime against poverty, for I already have a lot of things and some people don't.

Let's go through this piece by piece. One, I need shoes that other people think are good walking shoes for my feet, because apparently I don't have any. I walk up to 15 km a day (!!!) on my normal shoes, so why would they make my feet hurt if I walked that extra 10 km. Baffles me.

Two, I need a backpack or another means or transportation for my paraphernalia. At the moment I haven't really packed anything, but since we might be leaving as early as Monday night, that little something that's going to hold my possessions is going to be crucial. But here's the twist. I've had a thing against backpacks for a long time. Actually since seventh grade, so that makes it at least seven years. Seven years of not wearing a rucksack has got to mean something! I can't just trow away my pride and dignity! But I must, for the sake of my mental health. This duffel bag vs suit case vs backpack has puzzled me many times before. Perhaps I should buy them all. Like Pokemon!

Three, what to take with me. Three weeks is a long time to be carrying all your junk around so it would help if I only took the bare essentials with me. And this is were it get's worse. I need rain clothes, chilly weather clothes, + 35 Celsius weather clothes, all in the form of one luggage. So I thought I would take one raincoat with me ( or buy if I don't have enough room in my *peep* to take one with me), rubber ballerinas ( Crocs are the cheapest option. Noo!!!), a parasol and a water tight thing to put my *peep* into. Then on chilly weather some jeans, a thin cardigan and my Marja Kurki scarf. Perhaps a long top and socks too. But on hot weather, a skort (you heard me right), a top with preferably sleeves of some sort and a pair of sandals. Voilà, that should be everything. I probably need night wear of some sort and a sleeping bag and linen and a towel and toiletries and an adapter and a camera and a passport and a pillow and some panties and a wallet and a second wallet and some clothes washing liquid and a combination lock chain and that should be it then. Or not, I will keep you posted.
